Exploring Japan: Our Unforgettable Journey to Tokyo & Mount Fuji

Japan is a dream destination for many travelers, offering a perfect blend of modernity and tradition. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene beauty of Mount Fuji, Japan has something special for every visitor. Our sudden trip to Japan on January 13, 2023, was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. We were a group of eight friends, including me, Nazmul, Khayer, Mamun, Himel, and others, all excited to explore this incredible country.

We stayed in Tokyo, the heart of Japan, known for its towering skyscrapers, neon lights, and rich cultural heritage. The city was breathtaking, filled with advanced technology, organized transportation, and warm hospitality. Walking through the streets of Tokyo felt like stepping into the future, yet every corner carried a touch of history and tradition. The people were incredibly polite, and the food was absolutely delicious. Sushi, ramen, tempura – everything we tried was mouthwatering.

Tokyo is a city that never sleeps, offering countless entertainment options, shopping districts, and historic landmarks. One of the best places we visited was Shibuya, home to the world-famous Shibuya Crossing, where hundreds of people cross the street at once. It was an incredible sight to witness. We also explored Akihabara, known for its electronic stores and anime culture, and Asakusa, where we visited the historic Senso-ji Temple. The mix of old and new in Tokyo makes it one of the most fascinating cities in the world.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Mount Fuji, Japan’s most iconic and sacred mountain. We rented a car and embarked on a journey to witness its majestic beauty. The drive was scenic, with stunning landscapes surrounding us as we made our way to the famous spots around Mount Fuji. Our first stop was Kawaguchiko, a beautiful lake that offers the most picturesque view of the mountain. The reflection of Mount Fuji on the lake’s surface was mesmerizing, and we spent hours admiring the peaceful surroundings. Next, we visited Arakurayama Sengen Park, home to the famous Chureito Pagoda. The view from this park was simply breathtaking – a five-story red pagoda standing against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, creating a postcard-perfect scene. Climbing the stairs to reach the top was a bit exhausting, but the view was worth every step. We also explored Oshino Hakkai, a charming village with crystal-clear ponds and traditional houses. The pure and fresh water in the ponds comes directly from Mount Fuji’s melting snow, and the entire area felt like a scene from a fairytale.

The weather was absolutely perfect during our trip. The cool breeze, clear blue skies, and snowcapped peak of Mount Fuji created an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was, and we took countless pictures to capture every moment. However, despite the incredible journey, we faced some difficulties along the way. One of the challenges I personally faced was driving in Japan. Unlike South Korea, where I am used to driving on the left side, Japan has a right-hand steering system. It took me some time to adjust, but eventually, I managed to drive safely. Another major issue was the toll fee. The highway tolls in Japan are quite expensive, and we ended up paying around 18,000 yen ($170 USD) for toll charges alone, which was surprisingly high. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience was unforgettable.

However, one of the best parts of our journey was the resting place we found on the way back. Japan has well-maintained roadside rest stops where travelers can take a break, enjoy food, and refresh themselves. We stopped at one of these places and had some of the most delicious Japanese dishes. The flavors were rich, and the experience of eating authentic Japanese food after a long day of traveling was simply amazing. We enjoyed warm bowls of udon noodles, crispy tempura, and fresh sushi, which made our journey even more delightful.

For those planning to visit Japan, I would highly recommend traveling in a group rather than going individually. Japan is an incredible country, but navigating transportation, language barriers, and high costs can be challenging for solo travelers. Traveling in a group not only makes it more convenient but also reduces expenses and enhances the overall experience. That’s why we are now offering Japan group tours at a reasonable cost. Recently, a group of 16 people went on a guided tour to Mount Fuji, and they were fully satisfied with the experience. Traveling with a professional guide ensures that you don’t miss out on any important spots and can enjoy the journey without any worries.

Japan left an everlasting impression on us, and we can’t wait to go back again. Whether you are a nature lover, a foodie, or someone who enjoys exploring different cultures, Japan has everything to offer. The breathtaking scenery, warm hospitality, and unique experiences make it a must-visit destination for every traveler. If you haven’t been to Japan yet, start planning now – you won’t regret it!
